Our Doulas

A note about our doulas: All labor and postpartum doulas affiliated with Beautiful Beginnings are trained under DONA, International (Doulas of North America). We all practice under the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as set up by DONA.

The certification program for labor and postpartum doulas is rigorous and requires continuing education and positive evaluations. This is to insure that our doulas are fully qualified and are able to meet the needs of the family and work well with the birthing environment. Not every doula is certified, but most are working towards it.

We are here to support the new family: Mom, Dad, siblings, relatives. It is YOUR birth, not ours, therefore, we will support your decisions and help you have the best birth experience possible. We are versed in many aspects of childbirth, so we will offer you information and education so that you can make the decisions that are most acceptable to you during your birth process. We also offer resources and referrals to allow you further information and education for your personal birthing and family needs.

These doulas have all been trained through DONA, International.  They are required to attend a 3 day workshop, and many are completing their certification.  TB tests, CPR and other background tests may be required of the doula, but should be inquired about by the perspective parents.
Beautiful Beginnings acts as a referral service only, and does not take responsibility for the actions, advice or background of the pp doula.
Therefore, all perspective parents should conduct a detailed interview with the doula to find the right match for your needs as a new family.  Rates vary with individual doula.

Marily Demere "Heaven Sent Postpartum Doula Care", Postpartum Doula

"Nothing can compare to a mother's love - it is the force that brings us into existence and sustains us through a lifetime."

I have been a postpartum doula for over 7 years and absolutely LOVE helping families with new babies! I bring knowledge, support, warmth and humor in my "Doula Bag" and am well known to pack fresh flowers, home made items and other treats that brighten your day, as well. Having raised 3 children (in San Diego) I also bring a "full- family perspective" to my clients. I have been working non-stop since my training and have lots of experience with twins. My expertise is in establishing a gentle routine (or a schedule, if you prefer) that promotes regular eating and sleeping cycles. I am certified in both Adult, Child, Infant CPR and First Aid/Family Safety. I prefer North County and am truly Heaven Sent!
